The latest publication of The ZDHC MRSL V3.1 saw a number of solvents added to the main list.
Whilst we do not condone the use of solvents restricted by the ZDHC MRSL V3.1 at ZDHC we recognise that it is not possible for the textile and footwear value chains to move away from some of these solvents overnight, and there is a need for a transition period while safer alternatives are investigated. During this time it is important that where banned solvents are used they are used responsibly and safely.
To support the industry in this transitional phase towards safer alternatives, ZDHC has developed the “ZDHC Responsible Solvents Approach Guide V1.0”, planned for release in mid-October 2023.
The intention of the guide is to drive positive transformation for a sustainable supply chain and minimise emissions and exposure to workers and the environment through the implementation of best practices.
Join us for a webinar on the new ZDHC Responsible Solvents Approach Guide V1.0.
We will host one webinar in English on 11th January 2024 at 9.30 CET.
Here we will take you through:
- How to identify hazards associated with solvents
- Approaches to find safer alternatives, including ZDHC MRSL conformant formulations
- Chemical management best practices for storage, handling, and recovery of spent solvents
- Monitoring of VOC emissions at the workplace
- Training and education requirements for employees
- A “To Do” checklist to implement the guide
There will be an opportunity at the end of both to ask questions direct to the ZDHC Sustainable Chemical Management Competence Centres Team
