South Asia Conference 8th September 2023

On 8th September 2023, ZDHC hosted our 4th South Asia Regional Conference in Bangalore, India. The day was filled with engaging presentations on topics such as:

• Implementing sustainable chemical management through our solution providers
• Sharing of stakeholder journeys for implementing ZDHC RtZ Programme
• Clean air
• Clean materials
• Clean chemistry
• Clean water and biodiversity

The conference included a keynote speech from N. Chandran, Chairman and MD of Eastman Exports. We held an engaging panel discussion with representatives of our partner organisations, including GIZ, SAC, FFG and TE which set the stage to highlight the need for collaboration in accelerating sustainability throughout the value chain. 

One highlight of the conference was the ‘ZDHC Torchbearer’ award given to two textile industry signatories Birla Cellulose and Winsome Textile Industries and two chemical industry signatories Colourtex Industries and Proklean Technologies from the South Asia region to recognise their contribution and commitment to the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero.

With more than 300 participants in attendance, the conference brought together much of the ZDHC community in South Asia. Thank you to everyone, from  chemical formulators, textile manufacturers, garment suppliers, brands and solution providers. Your attendance enabled engaging conversations on many topics across the industry.
