We are thrilled to announce that ZDHC is taking part in the upcoming UN Water Conference 2023 by hosting a public virtual side event from 20-24 March. The week-long conference will be dedicated to UN Sustainable Development Goal 6, and on 21 March, ZDHC will host its highly anticipated event, 'Wastewater Management in the Textile, Footwear & Leather Industry: Challenges, Progress, and the Role of Education.'
Register now and join us in New York, as leading Brands, Suppliers, and esteemed organisations such as GIZ, WEF, IHE Delft, and WWF - all active supporters of the ZDHC Academy - share their valuable experience and insights on the fashion industry's water treatment challenges. We will examine how a globally accessible and unified training and education approach can benefit the industry, with a focus on sharing best practices in wastewater management, effluent treatment, and training.
We are also proud to participate in other water conference activities, including the Roundtable Mobilising Cross-Sector Audiences for Water Action on 22 March (13:30 EST) and the WBCSD side event on 24 March (09:00 EST), where our expert panellists will discuss contracting supply chains towards achieving Target 15, "Disclosure of impacts and dependencies on nature."
Our mission is to spotlight the fashion industry's collaborative spirit in improving education and implementing solutions that reduce the intentional use and discharge of harmful chemicals in wastewater. We are passionate about inspiring organisations across sectors to adopt innovative cross-sectoral approaches that prioritise the environment and human health over competition.
Stay tuned for exciting updates during the conference week, as the ZDHC Academy will be officially launching the following new training and programmes that same week:
- ZDHC Wastewater Management training
- ZDHC Wastewater Treatment System Operator Level 1
- Graduate Professional Diploma Programme (GPDP) Water, Wastewater and Solids Treatment and Management in the Fashion Industry
Let's work together towards a common goal of improving global water conditions to build a healthier, more sustainable future for our industry and our planet.
