Gender impacts chemical management more than we might think. As such, It's important to study how gender and chemical management interact, to spotlight the subsequent effects, and incorporate those findings into our work.
By joining the Gender & Chemicals Partnership (G&CP), a multi-stakeholder project including governments, industry leaders, civil society, academic institutions, international organisations and other actors, ZDHC is a step closer to realising a gender-conscious approach to sustainable chemical management.
On 23rd November the MSP Institute and Mexico (interim board member of the G&CP) organised the first webinar 'A Gender Action Plan for the new Global Framework on Chemicals'. In this webinar, several speakers presented SAICM’s gender-focussed activities to date, provided examples of Gender Action Plans in other international environmental policy processes, and discussed first thoughts for the structure and activities of a future Gender Action Plan for the Global Framework on Chemicals.
We were delighted to see ZDHC Stakeholders join the webinar, are eager to engage with you further on the topic to build a work plan for Gender & Chemicals with the ZDHC Committed Community.
