New Signatory Friend of ZDHC Brand

Xtep Group joins ZDHC to enhance chemical safety and support its 2030 goal of increasing sustainable materials. Through ZDHC’s tools and standards, the brand aims to eliminate hazardous chemicals and drive responsible manufacturing across its supply chain.

Xtep Group is a sporting goods enterprise specializing in the development, manufacturing, and sales of sports shoes, clothing, and accessories.Xtep merged with multiple international brands by acquisitions or joint ventures in 2019 to become a multi-brand and internationalized group. The Group now operates four sports brands: XTEP, XTEP KIDS, SAUCONY, MERRELL. These brands were categorized into mass and professional sports groups to form a differentiated, complementary brand matrix.

Through 30 years of development, Xtep has become China’s leading sporting goods enterprise. The core brand of XTEP has been running for 17 years, and released the brand strategic positioning of "World running shoes China Xtep" in 2022, aiming to create running shoes that fit Chinese runners most, thus preferred by Chinese runners, becoming the "first brand of running in China".

Xtep Group

Joining the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme aligns seamlessly with Xtep’s existing sustainability strategy. By adhering to ZDHC's strict chemical management standards, such as the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), they can effectively eliminate hazardous chemicals from their supply chain, which is in line with Xtep’s goal of ensuring the safety of its products and protecting the environment.

Moreover, the ZDHC Gateway provides Xtep Group with a platform to identify and source safer chemicals and materials, enabling them to make more sustainable choices in their manufacturing process. This directly supports their aim to increase the use of sustainable materials in Xtep’s  products, as stated in our 2030 ESG strategy where they plan to have 50% of their products using at least one sustainable material by 2030.

“I'm extremely delighted to collaborate with ZDHC. This partnership is a significant step forward in our journey towards more sustainable and responsible chemical management. We look forward to working closely with all members, making substantial contributions to the cause of hazardous chemical control and sustainable development in the industry.”
