Africa Fashion Week update

From 8th-11th November ZDHC participated in the Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week. With a booth in the main hall next to the conference area we were able to meet many interested industry colleagues from the region, including Rwanda, Lesotho and Nigeria. In addition, several organisations ZDHC is already collaborating with, Solidaridad, UNIDO, GIZ, Hohenstein, ILO, EiTex and others were exhibiting or visiting to make the four days highly interactive and fruitful. 

On the last day of the conference ZDHC moderated 2 panel sessions focussing on collaboration and the importance of design decision making in the implementation of sustainable chemical management. The panel sessions stressed the importance of having the right infrastructure in place in the region to be able to make the next steps. 

With these first important steps in Africa below the Sahara we hope to have set the pace for more fruitful collaborations and engaging the region in the important discussions about the implementation of sustainable chemical management frameworks and the implementation of the ZDHC MRSL in the manufacturing industry.
