In 2023 the Gender & Chemicals Partnership (G&CP) was launched at the World Chemicals Conference (ICCM5) in Bonn. This unique multi-stakeholder partnership was established to promote gender equality and empower women and girls in chemicals and waste management. In addition, the partnership dives deeper into the impact of hazardous chemicals on the human body and health.
ZDHC has been engaged with the partnership from the beginning. On 30th of October we hosted an all-signatory workshop about the G&CP covering:
- What is the G&CP?
- Why is it important?
- What should be our role?
The recording of the webinar is now publicly available: https://academy.roadmaptozero.com/courses/group/1
In addition, on 18th and 19th November 2024 the G&CP hosted its first Assembly to adopt the Partnership Rules and elected the final board. We are proud and honoured to share that ZDHC will keep our seat on the board of the G&CP.
We will start to work on developing working groups and defining deliverables within the G&CP and will engage with our interested stakeholders on how to give them the space to play a role in developing the work of ZDHC within the Gender & Chemicals field.
The G&CP is still open for additional partners; industry experts are very much valued! Please contact noto@zdhc.org for further information!
