Kicking off 2021, ZDHC welcomes three outstanding Contributors to its ever-growing community.
From the Textile Industry:
Finland based Spinnova joins the ZDHC Community at a moment it is ready to further scale its patented technology in sustainable textile manufacturing, awarded by the Fast Company in 2019 & 2020, ISPO and Scandinavian Outdoor Awards. Spinnova wood-based materials are produced without any harmful chemicals. They are quickly biodegradable, fully circular, create zero waste or side streams, include no microplastics, minimal CO2 emissions and e.g. 99% less water use than the cotton value chain.
Eastman Naia™ cellulosic fibre joined us in December. Based in the U.S.A., Eastman is a global speciality materials company ranked among one of the 100 ‘most sustainably managed companies in the world’ as reviewed by the Wall Street Journal last October. With Naia™, Eastman offers a sustainable fibre choice for womenswear fabrics; its cellulosic fibre is made with sustainably sourced wood pulp, is fully traceable, certified biodegradable, and produced in a closed-loop process where solvents are recycled back into the process for reuse.
As an Associate that we have worked with on a number of activities already:
IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative encourages joint investment and collaboration in innovative models to realise long-term solutions for environmentally and socially sustainable production and trade. Headquartered in The Netherlands and funded by different governments and foundations, IDH operates globally in different industry sectors ranging from coffee and tea to cotton and apparel.
Also joining as a Friend of ZDHC is BAM Bamboo Clothing. The UK based company designs and manufactures soft and sustainable bamboo active wear, sold through its ecommerce site and catalogues.
ZDHC applauds these organisations in joining our mission and looks forward to a year of collaboration and engagement in the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme.
