ZDHC is pleased to announce the release of its 2022 Business Case Study, conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers Private Limited (PwC). The study aimed to identify the financial and non-financial benefits of ZDHC's Roadmap to Zero Programme for brands, manufacturers, and chemical suppliers in the textile, leather, apparel and footwear industry.
The study, exclusively available to ZDHC contributors, identified the biggest commercial benefits for those organisations that have deeply integrated the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme into their business practices. The results showed that the benefits of the Programme far outweigh the costs for most stakeholders.
The study highlighted the role of ZDHC in driving sustainable innovation and harmonising industry practices. By adopting the ZDHC guidelines and using the platforms provided, stakeholders have realised significant benefits.
ZDHC has brought about a significant cultural shift in the industry, with heightened awareness related to sustainable chemical management and the adoption of certifications at the initial stage of testing. Contributors reported a reduction in chemical consumption of up to 30% through the analysis of Chemical Inventory Lists.
Overall, the study showed that ZDHC's Roadmap to Zero Programme has been instrumental in driving sustainability and innovation in the industry. The benefits of being part of the ZDHC community are clear, and we encourage all industry stakeholders to join us on this journey.
